Rooftop solar on a warehouse, a battery storage lease on spare land, or a grid-scale project on a business site — commercial renewable leases carry the same long-term value as rural ones, and the same option to capitalise it.
For a business, rental income sitting on a 20–40 year term is often less useful than capital available now — whether that's for reinvestment in the core business, funding acquisitions, or reducing reliance on existing borrowing and its associated interest costs.
As with any lease, you can choose to capitalise the whole income stream or only part of it, and the arrangement can sit alongside your existing corporate structure rather than requiring a change to how the underlying land or site is held.
